About placements for teachers

A placement is a period of time spent for professional development by a teacher in a company or other organisation.

Placements are:

  • From one to five days
  • Planned, structure and focussed – to achieve the leaning objectives and maximise the benefits for everyone.
 
What do teachers gain from placements:
 
  • Hands on preparation for work-related learning 14-19
  • A greater understanding of the world of work
  • Enhanced leadership, management and other skills
  • Subject enrichment and CV enhancement
  • Up-to date knowledge and experience of the vocational areas covered by the new applied GCSEs
