Business Volunteers

Level of commitment

Involvement can range from a one-off activity perhaps lasting 15 minutes, through to a regular commitment, and your involvement can fit around your business needs. You just specify how much time you want to give.

Who will I be working with?

Your involvement can be with secondary students, post 16 students or by supporting teachers and head teachers.

The type of involvement could include:

  • Releasing your staff or providing time yourself
  • Providing information on your company or services
  • Hosting visits
  • Conducting mock interviews
  • Sponsorship of events or challenges
  • Offering work experience
  • Providing development for teachers
  • Mentoring students
  • Donating materials

"'Working with the schools and students within our local community has given me with a greater insight into what the educational system provides for the younger generation through out the Counties by way of work experience, enterprise days and mock interview sessions.

It has also highlighted the importance of preparing students for their next career decision whether this is College or work. I believe that engaging with local business people and professionals and absorbing their knowledge and experience adds value to the individuals and potentially open up doors of opportunity.
